Life is a Dream

by Shea Leavis with text by Charles L. Mee

Life is a Dream used textual fragments of Charles L. Mee’s play of the same title to explore the relationship between mourning and ritual. Taking inspiration from the imagery within Mee’s writing, the piece enacted a series of death-rituals as a means of examining their potential, and the potential within the symbolic, to alter one’s relationship to great loss and to reignite meaning in a life frozen in time.
